Hi there! Craig here with another video on the trimmer accessories I use for work. If you haven't already, I invite you to watch my last video, where I talk about the benefits of using a derusting weeding wheel on your lawn trimmer. I've found that accessory really handy, but today I want to talk about a more standard kit: the ECHO Speed-Feed 400 Head.
This easy-to-install kit comes with a lid, a spring and a spring cap. You can have it with you on your landscaping truck or trailer or, as I did, go running to a Home Depot store or ECHO dealer when you need to replace your old one and continue working.

So when I hit the water meter, the spring popped out and the cap popped off and I saw the cap pop off, but I missed the spring. And so, it's now two properties back and we don't have time to turn around. So I took this off, I threw on a Speed-Feed 450 that I had in the truck, and just went to town the rest of the day. Got home, and then thought about what am I going to do with this? Do I just toss it? I've got a brand new Speed-Feed 450 on, so instead of tossing it, I went to Home Depot and actually found just by luck, the Speed-Feed 400 ECHO You Can maintenance kit. It's 90170Y.
What this has in it, is a cap and inside the spring as well. So we're going to use this, put this on and see if we can't get this thing going brand new again. All right. Okay, so what comes in the ECHO You Can maintenance kit for the Speed-Feed 400, just two items, the cap and the spring. So I know a lot of times we just buy the extra caps and keep them around. However, you come in a situation like this, you're actually going to need the cap and the spring.
Excellent, we're in. We're ready to roll. Okay, I will slide the string in, and we're ready to go. So what does this cost? The caps definitely sell between six and $8 at my ECHO dealer. I'm going to say that at Home Depot I paid somewhere between 14 and $16 for this. So you're paying a little bit extra for the spring, but you are getting a brand new, fresh, ready-to-go trimmer head. So if you ever lose that spring or you think it's just time to freshen up that trimmer head, it's available. Home Depot, ECHO dealers, I'm sure almost everyone's got them. Thanks for watching.
